Smt. Shakuntla Educational and Welfare Society was established in the year 1998 and registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 with its registered address at Daryaganj, New Delhi. The Society runs institutions with the name of “Galgotias'' in Greater Noida, UP. The members of the society are Mr. Suneel Galgotia, Mrs. Padmini Galgotia and Mr. Dhruv Galgotia. Smt. Shakuntala Educational and Welfare Society has an experience of over three decades in the education sector. The society, at present, runs three colleges viz. Galgotias Institute of Management & Technology (GIMT) and Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) and Galgotia College of Pharmacy (GCP), and one university in the name of Galgotias University (GU) at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Thus, the society has an established track record of over two decades in running educational institutions. The society has the privilege of having a number of experienced faculty members, which is essential in building a strong brand name and attracting quality students.
